On Friday, February 8, the maxillofacial surgeon for the Philadelphia Flyers, Dr. Jonathan Burke, visited St. Augustine Prep and spoke to Mr. Kevin McHale’s Anatomy and Physiology class. The visit was a part of the Guest Speaker Program initiated by the Academics Office for the 2012-2013 Academic Year (for an article on another high-profile speaker who participated in this program, please click here).

Dr. Burke served as Assistant Professor of Surgery at UMDNJ and Robert Wood Johnson Medical School for ten years before returning to private practice. Since 1994, he has served as team oral and maxillofacial surgeon for the Philadelphia Flyers and Phantoms hockey clubs.
